This howto will show you how to add a widget ’sidebar’ to the footer of any WordPress theme. I call these ‘bottombars’ to distinguish them from the whole of the footer. You may not know it, but WordPress comes equipped with the ability to output the feed of the discussion from any post in your blog. Anyone who knows about this ability can easily subscribe to these feeds in both RSS and Atom flavours in any WordPress blog, however, with a line of PHP and HTML you can link the feeds to their associated post, so that any modern browser can discover these feeds automatically.
